Arctic Marine Shipping Assessment (AMSA) Town Hall Meeting

Location: Nome Mini-Convention Center

Time: 6PM, Wednesday, 3 September 2008

Subject: AMSA Town Hall Meeting - Future Arctic Shipping

A presentation and discussion of the Arctic Council's ongoing Arctic Marine
Shipping Assessment (AMSA) will be led by Dr. Lawson Brigham (AMSA Chair) of
the U.S. Arctic Research Commission and Jimmy Stotts, ICC Alaska Executive
Director. AMSA is a large study looking at the future of Arctic shipping and
the many issues related to many more ships operating in the Arctic Ocean.
Implications for the Bering Strait Region will also be discussed. Following
a presentation, an open discussion will be held so that members of the Nome
community can provide to the AMSA Team their views on the future of
increasing Arctic marine activity. All are most welcome to attend.
