To all Nomites,
September 20, 2008, is International Coastal Cleanup Day.
America is slowly shifting to a "green culture" in part because of the
high energy costs.
Today all 300 million citizens are embracing the fact that
environmental responsibility is everyone's responsibility.
Just like the folks in Nome that took their time to clean up "middle
beach" about a month ago, we can all make an effort to clean up our
wonderful beaches. We could even make it a family outing!
A clean beach just makes it so much more enjoyable for all when we the
using our great beaches for fun and recreation. Safer too for are
kids without all the sharp metal and glass.
I plan to make an effort to take a couple of bags and clean up areas
of the beaches around Nome for the next couple of weeks. I encourage
everyone to join in and celebrate International Coastal Cleanup Day on
September 20, 2008.
My Kindest Regards to my fellow Nomites,
D.L.
