Northwest Campus is continually looking for community members
interested in teaching courses as adjunct instructors. These can be
regular college courses that are part of UAF's degree programs, or
they can be community interest courses that you think Nome folks (or,
if you live in a village, that people in your community) would enjoy.
Requirements for teaching vary by department; sometimes a master's
degree is required, but in some cases you simply need demonstrated
knowledge of your subject area.
Each potential adjunct instructor has to be approved by UAF, and
there are a few steps to that process. But it's doable--don't let
that scare you off! Adjunct pay is pretty respectable, and
instructors qualify for FREE tuition for 3 credits through any
University of Alaska campus.
If you think you might be interested in this opportunity, please let
me know and I can fill you in on more of the details; you can contact
me by phone or email (see below). Thanks for your interest in your
local UAF campus!--cg
